Garden Lunch

There is so much growing in the garden right now.  Fifteen minutes spent in the backyard today yielded a large handful of kale, 2 cucumbers, a bell pepper, 3 jalapenos, a few nasturtium leaves and flowers and a selection of fresh herbs which I immediately made into a simple salad.  It didn’t need more than a few shakes of a simple vinaigrette and a sprinkling of parmesan to turn it into a refreshing, light, fragrant and delicious lunch.

There is more ready to pick each day, and judging by the abundance of basil, I think that homemade pesto is in my future.
